Our Director
Monterey Bay Academy of Dance's Director & Owner is Suzānne M. Lundberg.
A former professional dancer herself, Suzānne has owned ballet studios along the central California coast for 20 years as well as founding two performing companies and outreach youth programs. Her vision reaches beyond the technical and into mentorship utilizing a holistic approach in teaching to create a dynamic individuals as well as dancers. In addition, Suzānne served 4 years as the Artistic director of Caminos Del Arte and 10 years as Associate Artistic Director of Salinas Performing Arts.
Suzānne's love for teaching dance and her students are her passion.

Our Mission
The principle focus of the Monterey Bay Academy of Dance is to provide the highest quality of training to students pursuing a career in classical ballet and to students studying for self-enrichment purposes. Cecchetti (the classical Italian method) technique augmented with Russian is utilized to promote, provide, and train dancers with a thorough knowledge of the art of classical ballet.
Monterey Bay Academy of Dance offers an environment that encourages self-esteem and positive competition. Class size is limited to provide individual attention to each student. Most ballet classes are taught or closely overseen by our director.

Monterey Bay Academy of Dance and its director has many success stories.
Students that have studied with Suzānne have moved on to professional dance careers as dancers, choreographers, teachers and studio owners. Many more have received college scholarships, and have been accepted into prestigious summer programs and study with master teachers. The list of places is growing--American Ballet Theater, Ballet San Jose, Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Houston Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Ballet West, Julliard, Joffrey Ballet, MIT, UC Irvine, Long Beach, Suzanne Farrell, New International Dance Ensemble, Dance Through Time, Cornish School of the Arts, North Carolina School of the Arts, The Rock School, Steps on Broadway, Finis Jhung, David Howard, Jillana, Suki Schorer, Maria Tallchief, Lucinda Childs, Edward Villella, Gelsey Kirkland and many others.
